Biography:

Taketh started in 2000 on two acoustic guitars, but quickly turned into a three man band with the addition of Davids brother Johan on drums.

The remaining two seats have changed over the years, and with them the sound. The first permanent setting included the twin brothers Jonas and Emil, currently known for their participation in MTV:s Pimp My Ride International.

In 2004 Jonas decided to leave Taketh, and shortly after that Emil followed his brother to Admonish. The guys quickly found a new bass player in Lars, but the second guitar spot remained vacant for a long time.

After a start in melodic death the music wandered of into both progressive and black metal during the twin-period, but ended up returning to melodic death once again.

In 2005 a record deal was signed with Dutch label Fear Dark, and in September that year Freakshow was released.

Shortly after recording Freakshow, the band was once more complete with the addition of Atahan. And with him the sound started to change once more, this time towards more harmonies and melodies.

A tour with Eluveitie, Royal Anguish and Morphia was done in 2006, visiting Germany, Holland and Switzerland.

In 2007 Lars decided to leave Taketh to pursue his career. A new bass player was found in Kim from System Shock.

After a time of hiatus a new demo has been recorded, and material for the second album is being rehearsed. This time it's much more evolved and mature, and very melodic while keeping it extremely heavy.
